Ja.

Was sind Ihre Lieblingsepisoden der Show? In Bezug auf Ihre Person kam mir der Tod Ihres Freundes und Partners Zito (Down for the Count) und Ihrer Vendetta aufgrund Ihrer Spielschulden in den Sinn (Hard Knocks ).

Down for the Count (Season 3) und Made for each other (Season 1 Focus on the Switek and Zito characters).

Mein letzter Film war Sal and the Good, 2014.

Danke

Englische Version

Michael Talbott is of course most famous for his role of Lt. Stanley Switak in the cult and record breaking TV Show Miami Vice. With that he became part of Pop culture.
But he had also roles in movies like Rambo or Carrie.
He is a man of few words, but straight answers, so i was very happy to be able to talk to him.

Hello Mr. Talbott, thank you for taking your time!

Have you always had the dream of becoming a professional actor?

My interest in acting started in high school.

How you got your first break into acting?

When I was 18 I moved from Iowa to LA. I lived in a rented garaged for $60 per month. I started going to auditions. had my first acting job in a few weeks.

At the start of your career you did some parts in some of the biggest tv shows at the time: mash, the streets of san francisco...that was a complete different time, no streaming, not millions of tv channels, was it hard to get these parts?

I went to a lot of auditions. Got about 10% of the parts I auditioned for.

Meanwhile you also got involved in one of the biggest and most important horror movies of all time: Carrie. It is kind of like the story of your earlier career, you didn't acted in trillions of movies but in some famous (used cars, vacation) and influential ones (Carrie, Rambo). Do you consider yourself happy and satisfied with your career?

Yes.

You did the first rambo: first Blood. Sylvester Stallone was already a Star trough Rocky, how was it to work with him?

I had to bend my knees quite a bit because I'm a lot taller than he is.

Can you tell us something about the physical demanding shoot?

The weather was terrible. Lots of snow and rain. It was really cold. I went through six pairs of boots.

Now there will be a 5th installment of the Franchise, what do you want to say to that and would you like to reprise your role ?

No, the first Rambo was a classic.

You also did Any Which Way you can with Clint Eastwood, what can you tell us about that Living Legend and the movie?

I frequently forgot my lines. I was thinking about Dirty Harry, "Did I fire six shots or only five?"

In your career you played very often a cop or deputy. Why do you think you often got cast in such roles?

I'm Irish!

Of course we need to talk about miami vice. i am a big fan and i grew up watching the show secretly with my sisters. It really struck me with the colours, the style, the coolness, the girls and the action. What would you say why was the show such a success and even years later people are talking about?

The brilliance, direction and vision of Michael Mann.

Can you tell us something about that time? How was it to be a part of one of the most influential shows of all time, how did that changed your life?

I was very happy that my mother say my success before she passed. She passed during the filming of 'The Cows of October" which was dedicated to her.

What are your favorite episodes of the show? Regarding your persona, the death of your buddy and partner Zito and your vendetta because of your gambling debts came to my mind.

Down for the Count (Season 2) and Made for each other (Season 1). Both were focused on Switak and Zito.

What was from your perspective the high point of the show? And what was your reaction, when you learned that the show will end after the fifth season?

Playing the lead in two episodes. I was very sad when the show ended.

Would you also think that today the show would have eight to nine seasons?

So many factors play into how long a show stays in production. It is hard to say.

Don Johnson was the leading man, how was he to work with?

Don was a total professional to work with. The entire cast and crew were.

Are you still in contact with the other actors? Are you befriended with some of them?

Not really. We all live in different parts of the country.

The show was run by Mastermind Michael Mann, what can you say about him?

A total visionary.

While you were a part of miami vice you were also cast in Manhunter from Michael Mann. What happened? Did Mr. Mann approach you on day and just said, come along i Have a great role for you?

It was not a very big role but that is pretty much how it happened.

I Think Manhunt is One of the absolute best Movies of Michael Mann with an amazing william petersen, how is your opinion on that Movie?

I thought it was a fantastic movie. Great story. visually they way it was shot was amazing. Acting was second to none.

After Miami Vice you did some Jack Reed tv movies with your Fellow Rambo collegaue Brian Dennehy (in germany i Think a very underrated actor) do you consider him a friend?

Brian was very good to me. Yes I consider him a friend.

You didn't act in so many other movies/Things afterwards...was that your decision or maybe the fear of getting typecast?

I had parts in about sixty other projects besides Vice.

Is there a role or a Movie that you don't always getting asked to but you are very proud of?

My entire career....

What do you do these days and are there any other movie projects you are attached to?

My last film was Sal and the Good, 2014. These days I'm semi retired but if the right offer comes along, you just never know... These days I work with several veterans and law enforcement organizations.

Thank you for your time, Mr. Talbott it was really an honour.

Thank you
